After a powerful year of impact in 2024, the Kingsley Obiukwu Foundation (KOF) is charging into 2025 with renewed energy, sharper goals, and an even stronger commitment to the communities we serve, from the excitement of the Unity Cup to the smiles at our food outreach events, the question we keep hearing is: What’s next? Well, here’s your answer.
More Towns, More Talent: The Unity Cup Goes Bigger
Last year, the Unity Cup lit up Nnewi South connecting ten towns through friendly football competition and community pride. Ukpor’s victory was more than a win on the field, it was a win for unity.
In 2025, we’re turning up the volume.
– Expanding to neighboring LGAs
– Adding more teams and creating youth scouting opportunities
– Boosting prize funds and community engagement. Sports bring people together like nothing else, and we’re building a future where grassroots talent gets the spotlight it deserves.
The Marathon That Moved Us All is Now Aiming Higher
On January 2nd, 2025, over 1,000 runners from across Nigeria took part in the Unity Marathon & Festival, pushing past boundaries, reclaiming public spaces, and celebrating culture. It wasn’t just a race, it was a movement. Afigbo Esther from Plateau State and Musa Bala Sati from Abia State didn’t just win, they inspired.
In 2026, we’re scaling the event to include:
– International runners
– Inclusive categories for elderly and persons with disabilities
-An expanded cultural festival with music, food, and art.
We’re not just running for fitness. We’re running for unity, for pride, for identity, and for something bigger than ourselves.
Education & Sustainability: Equipping the Future
2025 will also mark a big leap in our *education and sustainability goals.
– More scholarships for students
– New vocational and digital skills programs
– Community farming, tree planting, and eco-awareness campaigns
We believe that true development means educating the mind, feeding the body, and protecting the environment and we’re committed to all three.
Stronger Communities, Powered by People
At KOF, everything starts with people, volunteers, community leaders, traditional rulers, youth activists, and everyday citizens who show up, speak up, and lift others.
This year, we’re:
– Training more volunteers
– Launching early awareness campaigns
– Building systems that allow our impact to scale without losing the personal touch because the best solutions aren’t imported, they’re homegrown.
